In a telephone conversation around 6:50 p.m. with a colleague of Mr. Alter Llamas of Globe Eastern Visayas Facilities Group, he revealed that there is a technical failure on their Genset at Leyte, Leyte Tower which serves as a vital relay infrastructure to their Naval Globe Facilities. A team will be deployed tomorrow to fix the generator. Meanwhile, in a recent press briefing of the NDRRMC, telco officials informed that tower relay equipment in typhoon affected areas may have been misaligned due to strong wind brought about by Typhoon Ruby resulting to intermittent or non availability of cellular phone services. Telco technicians will be among the priority personnel to board military flights to Region VIII tomorrow.
