In a time of stillness, I imagine a perfect sunny day on a tranquil lake. I am floating contentedly in a small boat, greeting the sun’s warmth upon my face. Supported by the buoyancy of the water, I feel a gentle rocking of the waves beneath me, as their slumber is stirred by a faintly whispering breeze. I drift along peacefully, eyes closed, accepting the subtle shifts in the direction of my little craft, as the wind coaxes it along. When thoughts call for my attention, I gently let them rest, too, for now. In this sacred interlude, I do not need to plan my course, tend to my oars, or reach the shore at a certain time. Then fully relaxed from this retreat, I return to my day with a peaceful heart.
