In addition to the ongoing survey, the AVAM should also consider working on the following five critical aspects of AAP:- 1. Implementation of RTI in AAP. 2. Publication of the amendments made to party’s Constitution on 30.01.2014 on the website. 3. Publication of annual accounts of AAP for 2013-14 on the party’s website. 4. Dissolution of district and state level ‘appointed” bodies/persons and holding of elections. 5. Drafting an ideology for the party. Ideology is a set of beliefs which guide the party in policy making. Important components of ideology in the Indian context would be (i) the party’s definition of secularism, (ii) its line of thought on economic and financial matters, (iii) its stand on reservations in education and jobs, and (iv) its articulation on the centre-state relationship. Additionally, the party also should lay down in clear terms the ‘full statehood’ contours of Delhi. Note: Do not confuse विचार with विचारधारा. The two are related but separate. Policies and principles flow from ideology/vichaardhara.
