In an effort to understand the Glastonbury Temple of the Stars - TopicsExpress

In an effort to understand the Glastonbury Temple of the Stars from a more native shamanic point of view, Ive been looking for signs of lunar lore, and Ive recently come across the concept of Gates of Inspiration, which are in the Native American system but also in the Celtic, so it seems. The lunar cycle divides the year into nine sections, each governed by a separate Muse – and each of which is heralded by a Gate of Inspiration. A Muse Gate of Inspiration opens every 40 days, 9 each year, and this is shown in Celtic mythology by the nine maidens or muses who stir Cerridwens cauldron. The Cauldron is a vessel of death/rebirth from which the hero king emerges whole in body and heart. Nine maidens alternate with their breaths to keep the ‘fire of inspiration’ burning beneath the Cauldron. ‘For a year and a day’ Cerridwen prepares her magic ‘greal’ or ‘graal.’ Today is the start of Polyhymnia the Muses Gate of Inspiration. Polyhymnia, depicted here, is the muse of divine song, and with her singing she channels the energy to create the world anew. During this 40 day Gate of Inspiration, we are recommended to dissolve body tensions that hold the old years ways of thinking and feeling. We should breathe deeply, sing and move freely (dance!) to shed the old and open to the light of the New Year. Many thanks to Tracy Latz. The painting is by Tomek Setowksi and theres more here: poly-hymnia.blogspot.co.uk/2013/…/tomek-setowski.html
