In between showing, we drove through the badlands. Robin had never been there. We had mountain sheep 3walk both in front and behind our RV. Then we stumbled across a prairie dog village that was a mile or two long. They were EVERYWHERE!!! So cute to watch! After that we went to Mitchell, SD to see the Corn Palace. Again, Robin had never seen this so we had to see the ONLY Corn Palace in the world!!!!! (Drum roll). :) They redo the outside every year and this was the time, wouldnt you know, but there still were some of the murals up and we got to talk to an attendant who gave us a lot of information. The first one was built in the late 1800s. They use 275,000 ears of corn, split down the middle, to decorate the outside of the corn palace. This corn all comes from one man and he has cross pollinated to produce corn in 12 different colors, in order to made th4ese beautiful murals. I KNOW...more info than you need. lol We also took in Wall Drug and ate our first Buffalo burgers there. So all in all, we had beautiful Fall colors to take in along with some spectacular sites and we now are the proud owners of a Wall Drug sticker on the back of our RV. :) Now, back to the real world. ;) lol
