In case some of you never saw these Q & A before, I will post them - TopicsExpress

In case some of you never saw these Q & A before, I will post them here. Some fans had these questions, so I sent them off to Matthias and he kindly answered back. Its been awhile, (since July 27, 2013), but still fun to read. CD Hi Cindy, today is the day of the second show in Byblos, that`s why I finally find the time to answer the questions: Fan: 1. When are you starting your book? Matthias: 1. I don`t feel like writing a book at all at this point. I feel far too young to write a biography. It would be incomplete anyway, because I have still lots to do and a lot to accomplish in my life. Fan: 2. Would you ever open up your home again to a magazine like you did in the 80s or a videographer like Wolfgang? ( I realize you are kind of a private person, but maybe you could do this for your website, or where ever, to show your recording studio/practice/jamming room and give a tour showing your guitar collection and set up, etc. Im sure its different in your home than what you have at the store. Its not necessary to show us your kitchen and so forth, unless you want to. Hahaha!) Matthias: 2. I am a very private person, even when I am on the road. Being a guy who is getting a lot of public and media attention, I feel that I have to protect my private life for a good balance overall. I do have a very nice home, with a built in studio and believe it or not, a brand new and stunning looking kitchen! Fan: 3. How does it feel when youre on stage and youre so physically excited, but have to play nevertheless? Matthias: 3. Playing on stage and moving around while playing, comes most natural to me. The guitar feels like a part of my body and my soul. With a guitar in my hands I feel complete and I can express myself. Fan: 4. Can you give us your thoughts on Americas music and how its killing rock? And is that why we arent hearing rock here much lately other than reunited hair bands; is it dying here? Matthias: 4. When rock music started to happen, it was new and exciting to almost everyone. Throughout the years it became established and generic and a bit boring too, since a lot of the 80ies bands concentrated more on their stage presence and their hair, instead of the musical content. Some bands were able to create a signature sound of their own and wrote songs that will last for a very long time, if not forever. Those are the ones who are still able to create new music today. The fans feel that too and follow the bands that are true. We as the Scorpions have a younger audience today than 20 years ago. Every generation is looking for their own music, but that doesn`t necessarily mean, that it is different from the previous generation. Fan: 5. What do you do for fun or anything else you would care to share, when you are not on tour or at the store? Matthias: 5. I love to spend time with my family. Fan: 6. Do you do humanitarian work? If so, would you mind sharing what kind? Matthias: 6. I support 5 different humanitarian organizations since more than 30 years. Fan: 7. Are there ever any Scorpions songs that are written AROUND what you come up with? If so, where do you get your inspiration from? Matthias: 7. There are a lot of unfinished songs in the drawers of every band member. Some of them were finished lately, as you will hear on the upcoming Scorpions MTV unplugged project which will be released this year or on the CD of unreleased songs of the eighties which comes out next year. Fan: 8. Are you ever going to increase your merchandise line with more goodies such as key chains and hats? Matthias: 8. The main idea of my store is selling guitars, amps and accessories, obviously. But the fans are asking for merchandise, which inspires me to come up with cool ideas for shirts, jewelry etc. This is it. I hope you enjoy it. yours Matthias
