In case you don’t have time to read this full post, here’s the gist: I’m honored that I will be inaugurated tonight as the City Council Member from District 4. Some of you may have heard that Laura Pressley called for a recount in the District 4 race. It was her right by law that if she so chose to pay for a recount, then all ballots would be recounted. The recount was completed as of 4 PM. The results showed that, indeed, we won the District 4 race by about 1,300 votes, and the results of the recount were virtually identical to that of the original election. I was truly impressed by the professionalism and hard work of our City and County officials who administered the recount and served their duty protecting our democracy throughout the election process. The results of the recount (and wow, it’s a very tedious, meticulous, and exact process!) speak volumes about our election officials’ integrity and dedication to accurate elections.
