In case you missed this earlier... Please read the post below for information about a donation opportunity from our CEO, Craig Bankhead: Hi everyone, Back in the day, when I was a much fitter, much younger and a far less squishy version of my current self, I ran the Great North Run in three consecutive years (2007-2009). My time was never ground-breaking but, nonetheless, Im still here to tell the tale. So, you can imagine that when somebody suggested last October that I run it again in 2014, I said Why aye! Nee bother. Sadly, it turns out that 2009 was 5 years ago and my fitness levels are now more bleak than peak. Couple that with the fact that I was only reminded that I signed up to do the race when my race number landed on the doormat about a month ago. Since then though, I have sacrificed the daily box of Maltesers and have actually been out on some training runs (I know!). Anyway, I am running the GNR to raise funds for Bill Quay Community Farm Association (a charity I work for) so that we can develop a stinky old, second-hand portakabin into a swish learning space for our students. The whole project will cost around £8,000 but Im hoping to raise £500 to pay for a new roof. The work undertaken by the charity and its amazing staff team is all about enriching the lives of the local community by providing wellbeing, education and leisure opportunities for all ages. So, please, please, please give what you can to help us develop our farm into the fantastic learning environment it clearly has the potential to be, by donating what you can. I know that some people will be able to donate £20 or more and that some people will only be able to donate 2 or 3 quid, but it all adds up and your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support Craig Click here if you are able to donate https://justgiving/Craig-Bankhead/
