In civilized climes, the utterances of politicians are stifled in order to ensure that the polity remains stable even after the Election Day. The mayhem unleashed on Nigeria today cannot be divorced from the incendiary comments made by politicians before the 2011 elections. In this same stead, the polarizing issues of this 2015 election will reverberate way beyond the date of the actual Presidential elections. If Boko Haram was a violent reaction to a Jonathan victory in 2011, I dread to wonder what Nigerians will have to contend with after the Feb 14 date of this 2015 Presidential elections. If Jonathan wins, the North will surely burn; however if Buhari wins I wonder how the South South and South East will react Nigerians brace yourselves as an election is not just a day affair, it is the aftermath of the exercise that determines its success or failure in uniting us as a people.
