In closing... For my Scottish yes friends, if you look at this in terms of a day you will be devastated.... but if you look at in terms of 300 years you might see what a huge victory it was for Scotland. It is senseless to focus and yearn for the road not taken. It is wise to focus on the road that was chosen and be very aware of your surroundings. If an independent Scotland is meant to be, then it will happen in time. Right now you have an opportunity to hold people accountable for their promises. To watch with an open and intelligent eye over the next few years to see what (if anything) changes. When you have a vote as close as this, it speaks volumes, and opens huge possibilities for the future of politics in Scotland.... and who knows, perhaps there will be changes that will make for a more harmonious future for Great Britain... In my humble opinion, the election loss was by no means a defeat in the big picture. I think it was more like a wake up call to people to be aware of how they are being governed, to the bias and ignorance of the media, a wake up call to be aware of what your country has to offer, what your leaders have to gain, and that you actually have options!!! Today the world will still wake up and know that they love Scotland, her people, and all she has offered to us over the years.... and your governing bodies will be very very aware of the dangerous situation they barely avoided. As for the flag burning and scuffles that are making the papers... as best I can tell thats just papers sensationalizing bullshit to sell papers... you put 1000s of kids in the streets anywhere for ANY reason and youre going to have some kind of trouble. So, I congratulate the No voters on their quest to keep GB together... and I would only ask that both sides keep a very close eye on the political and social climate of Scotland in the years to follow. As I truly believe this will either be the wonderful first step of a happy marriage, or the inevitable first step of an amicable divorce. Peace to all.....
