In conjunction with the local field office of Operation Homefront, a well-known national nonprofit organization, Holy Cross School is once again collecting school supplies to be shipped to Afghanistan to support our troops deployed there. The supplies that we ship over will be distributed by military personnel to Afghan school children to build trust and a rapport in the areas where our troops operate. This effort has been cited as a highly successful endeavor that has saved American lives over the past ten years. We will be holding our drive from May 12th – May 22nd. You can help by: -Dropping off supplies at our collection boxes located outside the High School and Middle School offices and in the 8th Grade Center. -Volunteering to help us move the supplies to Mail n’ More, who handles packaging and shipping for us. The store is located at 141 Robert E. Lee Blvd in New Orleans. Approved School Supplies Include: • Blunt End Scissors • 12” rulers (metric markings) • Pens and pencils • Small pencil sharpeners • Colored pencil sets (Crayons melt!) • Binders • Notebooks & Notebook Paper • Composition books • Folders with inside pockets • Zippered pencil bags • Erasers Go Tigers!!
