In declaring martial law over Ukraine and the end of the fictitious ceasefire on June 30, Poroshenko said among other things the following: During those ten days [of the fictional and insincere ceasefire], we have demonstrated our commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict provoked from without to the Donbass, Ukraine, and to the whole world. To the people of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, we have shown the good will of the Ukrainian government. The hardworking and peaceful people, a majority of people in Donetsk and Luhansk, feel our sympathy, love and respect. They saw the sincere willingness of Kiev to take into consideration their special views and particular interests. ... International support for Ukraine has grown even stronger. ... However, a unique opportunity to realize [my] peace plan has not been fulfilled because of the criminal actions of the militants. ... As the Commander in Chief, I decided not to prolong the regime of unilateral ceasefire ... the defense of Ukraines territorial integrity demands not only defensive measures, but also offensive actions against militant terrorists. ... We will attack and we will liberate our land ... such will be our response to those who are abusing the peaceful population, who is paralyzing the working economy of the region, who is blocking wages, pensions, scholarships, who ... is destroying water supplies [= all the work of the junta and its armed forces] . Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard and other units would never allow themselves to use force against peaceful people [sic!]. They will never strike civilian population centers [sic!]. ... Such is the eternal nature of the armed Ukrainian knight. ... [Banderite] Glory to Ukraine! anna-news.info/node/17783
