In front of our friends, including Patrick Wiegand and Mary Lou Wiegand and Thomas Blankenship and Kim Blankenship, Rey Maza, and Danietta Maza, Averyl and I were married 5 years ago, in a union blessed by Father Jim Lewis. So, in front of our friends, on Facebook, I want everyone to know that I -- even more than then -- consider her to be my closest friend, who knows my heart, and that I am thankful she puts up with my moods, supports my arts enthusiasms, and lets me try to support her in turn. I am grateful, every day, for her support and friendship, and I try to remember to tell her so every day. I have not remembered each day to thank her, as I hoped to, but every day I have been grateful. I hope our life ends with rocking on a porch somewhere, holding our great-grandchildren. I could think of nothing better.
