In honor of Joey Goldstein ... PR maven and late father of my friend, Rob, I had grits with my Waffle House breakfast this morning in Harrisburg, Pa. Theyre over there on the left. (Some may not realize that Joey hailed originally from South Carolina.) And in honor of my own father, Jerry, Im wearing his Masonic ring, and a pair of his Bates shoes. (Ive walked many miles in my dads shoes, and also in his ragged, white leather sneakers.) Im funny - I think of it as sentimental - that way. Im also sporting a plaid sweater my wife bought me to wear one Christmas or New Years, and if it gets any colder, I have a buttery soft leather jacket that once belonged to my late pal, Mitch, in my car. Still thinking of boogying over to Dover Downs for the Matron Stakes this afternoon. That Waffle House breakfast was actually too large to finish. The slice of ham and and half my order of toast will make a fine lunch sandwich today. My resourcefulness surprises me sometimes. Just call me McGuyver. (Mightve misspelled that name; never saw the TV show, just the SNL spoofs.) BTW, were getting daring here. This post contains four - count em, four - photos, but I dont know how theyll lay out. Pete
