In juried competition, The Dead Man’s Number won a Gold Remi Award in the Suspense/Thriller Shorts category. It was one of the 150 films selected among nearly 4,500 submissions to the event in Texas. This is third oldest film festival in the U.S.. Past Remi Award winners include Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, the Coen brothers, Oliver Stone and David Lynch. The Remi Awards honor outstanding creative excellence in film and video, and were presented at the Gala Remi Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 12, 2014, during the 47th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, which took place from April 4 - 14, 2014. This years international juries in ten major categories evaluated each submissions success by scoring entrants on a variety of artistic and technical aspects, from Concept to Storyline, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Pacing, and more. Previously, The Dead Mans Number won the Audience Choice Short Film award at the 2013 Fairhope Film Festival.
