In keeping with the tradition of coming on here every few weeks and writing a nice long post; today the main version of my new song Unholy ft. Bobby Saint was released on iTunes. Theres an extended DJ/ club version and that will be coming out on Beatport soon, thats the version Ive played in my sets. im releasing this song on my label Kindergarten. I basically did it with the help of 3 or 4 people including my manager and the label manager of Kindergarten who runs and co-A&Rs the label with me, and other people on my team. aside from the amount of work that went into the song there were a limited few individuals who also worked around the clock to help give this song a proper release, and try and get it the exposure they felt it deserved, and we did this without the help and resources of a larger label, because we wanted to make sure the vision for it was never misinterpreted and we had complete creative control of the release. for the past year or so ive been working on an album, and havent released a lot of music. ive been pretty quiet about what Im working on as i just dont like to start talking about things too soon and albums take a while to come out. Unholy is essentially the first single off what will be my next album. we chose it as the best sort of sonic bridge between the old and the new, because the next album will sound different than the last. Unholy represents what people know me for, the music Ive released over these past 5 years or beyond, and what the next wave of my music will sound like. i mainly just wanted to talk about the way that we chose to get this song out to people, because thats something that doesnt always get talked about and credit doesnt always get due. the music should speak for itself, hopefully, and massive credit is due Bobby Saint who put the vocal on the song that made it what it is. heres the link to buy / preview, and if you want to preview the whole song or see the lyric-teaser video its on YouTube.
