In last post, IBTL’s only demand was to get a fair investigation done in Rohtak case only advice was not to trust Indian Media blindly. Media specializes in raising sensationalism and giving some issue far more coverage than it deserves. In issues which involves alleged mistakes committed by an individual it can prove to be suicidal. In the previous post, we saw that how 2 youths lost their jobs without any evidence of them indulging in eve teasing. More so entire Media and some ‘intellectuals’ indulge in character assassination of the individual who is perceived to have committed the mistake. The outcome can be deadly. Here is another example of how so called ‘Social Media vigilantism’ that supports Media reports can proves devastating for the life of that individual and his/her family who is targeted. A DD news anchor was ridiculed so much and so forth that she contemplated committing suicide. They were trying to indulge in Argument of Name and Argument of numbers. Those people claimed to run some famous pages which had 10 times more followers than IBTL. Question to the readers is, if a high number of people support some view, should it be taken as correct? We in IBTL try to raise socially important issues and try our best that the voices of both sides is heard. However some privileged, arrogant fools take their position for granted and try to mock the victims and enforce the victims. Pity such people. Only worry is they use these privileges to influence other naïve minds. May people become more mature and stop blind worship of any individual/page/medium
