Just finished watching Ace Ventura for first time in probably 10 years and my opinion it wasnt bad (also not as great as I remember being younger, but thats a given). I think Jim Carreys acting was over the top, but so is the idea of a pet detective movie in the first place which is why I think the movie was under-directed. I think with a good director Ace Ventura couldve been a really special movie and really highlighted Jim Carreys outragous facial expressions.
