In lieu of the recent reports of bike thefts, here are some quick thoughts for all regular bike commuters: 1. Always bring 2 locks ----> one for the front wheel and another for the rear wheel 2. Invest on good locks ----> some websites suggest putting out as much as 10% (at least) of the total cost of your bike ----> U-Locks (or D-Locks) are still the better choice for bikes 3. Park where there are a lot of bikes and preferably guarded ----> This may not be the perfect solution, but is definitely better 4. Chain/lock your bike to a secure, non-movable object ----> Like bike racks and posts where you cant take the bike out 5. Secure your bike properly ----> For the rear, your lock should go through the rear triangle of your frame and include the seat tube ----> For the front, your lock should include the front wheel and the downtube ----> ***we will post a write-up to further explain this*** Hope this helps.
