In light of Velies recent article on Child Welfare Services, we decided to reveal some details we havent shared before from last year when CalCoastNews waged a very public war against them. This came after Karen Velies grandchildren were taken into foster care. Last year there were several videos posted on YouTube on different channels by various pseudonyms, The videos were all produced by the same person. The videos outed case workers and Social Services staffers involved in Velies case and alleged that others were involved like former CAPSLO Homeless Director Dee Torres-Hill and District 3 Supervisor Adam Hill. The videos branded the officials as child kidnappers and extortionists. Shortly after the videos were uploaded, CalCoastNews co-founder Dan Blackburns son Alan Blackburn began sharing the videos on his personal Facebook profile and several non-profit pages that he maintained. Blackburn reportedly bragged that he produced the videos. We forwarded our documentation to authorities. This wasnt the first time we spoke to law enforcement about CalCoastNews and Karen Velie, and it certainly wont be the last. We know nothing about the Child Welfare Services cases that CalCoastNews has written about, but we know that the writers are fully committed to endangering the lives of government employees that are supposed to be protected by case confidentiality.
