In light of the 117 immigrant children that were placed in foster homes in the upstate area......if we get a phone call to take a child we will. We are foster parents. It will not become a political debate but an act to answer a call when there is a need. These are children whos mothers were pushing them through the fences away from her, because on this side alone is better than on that side with her. This world is not balanced, will never run politically correct or as promised or as it should. But one thing that is true is that there will be constant needs with the human race. I have read the comments and the posts the past couple of days and debates over what is right or wrong what I know is as a Christian we are to act as Christ would. Matthew 25:40 NIV The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. There will come a day when we will answer in Heaven and it wont matter who thought or said what down here but that what we did was pleasing to God as we lived. All opinions aside if a phone call is made and we are asked to take in a child, ANY child we will say YES. We feel being foster parents is a call on our life and this is part of being that foster parent to provide a home for ANY child that is in need. I am disheartened to hear that the foster parents who have opened their home to these children are receiving a terrible backlash from society. They are good people doing a good thing and it is an atrocity that they are being spoken of so lowly. I can only hope that respect from our family and friends is given to our family should we be the next ones in line to care for these children.
