In light of the news regarding David Wallaces and Costa Bajjalis - TopicsExpress

In light of the news regarding David Wallaces and Costa Bajjalis resignations from Wallace Bajjali, it is easy to despair. I find solace in a few key facts. One, the City of Joplin has strong leadership in all of the key positions needed to guide us through this challenge. I have confidence in our Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, City staff, Members and leadership of the JRC, and in the nine independent voices and views on City Council. Together we will work together to do what is best for this city. Two, Wallace Bajjali was quick to partner with other entities that remain and are viable, worthy enterprises. The City can work with them. Three, The only property Wallace Bajjali bought from the JRC was the Coke property. We had no use for this property and it would have been difficult to find a viable use for the building. The Coke property is not our problem now. Finally four, Wallace Bajalli never purchased any other property from the JRC. Which means that we control the property inside the Joplin Redevelopment Corporation. We do not need to worry about property being tied up in a foreclosure or going into receivership, therefore delaying future development. We are in control. This is not the direction I wanted the rebuilding of our city to turn. Our challenges are numerous, but I am confident that we have the leadership and the resources to persevere. Hindsight is 20/20, there are many things I would have done differently, but none of us get that luxury in life. We have to embrace and own our current situation and look for the numerous ways to improve. I am confident that we will exhaust our opportunities to find success. At your service, Ryan
