In light of the recent CFIA fiasco with Field Roast, we received the following confirmation from gardein that their products are not tested on animals. ============= Thank you for your email and inquiry about our gardein products. As a vegan plant here in Richmond, BC, there is no animal testing done on any of our products – ever. The company mentioned in the article is using vital wheat gluten as the first and major ingredient in all of their products, which acts as the main source of protein, while our products’ major ingredient is non-GMO soy. We also use Canadian wheat protein as an ingredient. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has specific PER (Protein Efficiency Rating) in place for soy – so gardein is not required to test on animals. In addition, all gardein products are fortified and we follow strict CFIA regulations for nutritional declarations on all labels. You can be sure gardein is of the highest quality with absolutely no animal testing – never have – never will. I hope this answers your question, and please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. ============= gardein
