In my ongoing round of shameless self-promotion, i will next begin posting poems and portions of poems from THE WESTERN ELEGIES. This is the American history series that began, at least on a conscious level, in the winter of 1973 during the siege at Wounded Knee. A few early pieces predate this poetic decision, and were inspired by a trip to the Tetons in the summer of 1972. They are, at this point, arranged chronologically from the pre-Viking era up through the Winter Rising.
