In my opinion, as well as that of probably the majority of Americans if you are to engage in a serious discussion: the REPUBLICAN position against a womans right to choose, and then to try to outlaw contraception at the same time, is just plain stupid. But not only is it stupid, it is mean-spirited and really criminal, when you think of the effects that would result if such a policy became law anywhere. What it does is to completely remove a womans control over her body and her life. Indeed it puts a womans life in jeopardy. But it is really, really, criminally stupid on so many levels. Even some republicans have expressed a desire not to be the party of Stupid. Unfortunately, they seem to be in the minority. No guts to go against the tide of Stupid. And yes, the republican base, or what republican extremists believe their base to be, is composed of extremely stupid, backward, and ignorant people. The American Taliban is an affront to civilized society, and must be stopped.
