In my search for the perfect place to photograph the milky way in - TopicsExpress

In my search for the perfect place to photograph the milky way in Boxley Valley, I stopped at the Boxley Baptist Church only to find there were too many lights there. As I turned my car around and began to pull out of the driveway, my headlights illuminated this owl across the road. So I left them on, quickly grabbed my camera and amped up the ISO and grabbed some shots. I then got out of the car, crossed the road and was able to get this shot from closer. I assumed it would be unusable as I was using a very high ISO along with a low shutter speed and I figured that even if I was able to hold the camera steady enough at that low of a shutter speed, the high ISO would create so much noise that the image would be awful. I was more taking it for myself, as I have never been that close to a wild owl and wanted to have a picture. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out!
