In my thirty-nine years of watching television, I never saw a show - TopicsExpress

In my thirty-nine years of watching television, I never saw a show quite like Boardwalk Empire. The pathos that was depicted was riveting, the storylines were deliberate and cleverly written, the production design capturing that period was exquisite, the cinematography was genuinely cinematic in scope. Most of all, many of the characters were original and memorable with Richard Richard Harrow, James Darmody, Chalky White, Nelson Van Alden, Gyp Rosetti, and Eddie Kessler stealing every scene they were in. Ironically, all these characters are already dead. Even the fabled, historical American gangsters, Arnold Rothstein and Al Capone, were brilliantly portrayed by Michael Stuhlbarg and Stephen Graham, respectively, with menacing temperaments that were polar opposites. You didnt know which of these men to fear more. It says a lot when the least interesting character is the lead character, and Steve Buscemi is no light weight when it comes to his talent as an actor. This show never lost its edge, even when it killed off one of its most popular characters (James Darmody) after season two. Regrettably, Im going to hate to see this series end, because I believe, in time, that it will rank up there as one of the best dramatic series ever produced. It already ranks top of my list as the most under-appreciated, which is why Ill miss it after this Sunday. If you havent seen an episode, Ive attached a clip of a scene from a recent episode: https://youtube/watch?v=b4IiZXdTZgA
