In my work / professional life there have been 2 major influences to whom I attribute a great deal of my success. One is obvious - a man called Brian Carpenter who provided me with opportunity and challenges and which allowed me great personal growth and reward, The other a man who I cannot name as he was a former client and is still engaged with me professionally. Today I met with him and his wife to assist them navigate some Insurance issues. He has been diagnosed with an illness which although not terminal will rob him of much of his future enjoyment of life. I gave them just some time to assist navigate a process which is quite commonplace to the people in my industry. The gratitude they showed today was most humbling for me. It goes to show that our professional persona can often allow us to connect with people ( clients even ) in the most personal of ways. I am grateful and happy I was able to help today. To be able to minimise the worry today made me feel like what I do is still good in nature. Never take your health for granted -
