The frame adds to the devotional quality of the scene. As I see the Flemish painting ,whose artist escapes me at the moment, the frame gives me the feeling of how the Dutch furniture guilds were masters of technique and the frame looks like fine cabinetry molding. Again, I like how it compliments the painting.
