In order to keep the public more informed regarding crime in the Redlands community, every Monday the Special Operations Lieutenant will provide a Facebook update highlighting activities in the following units; Investigations, Multiple Enforcement Team, Community Policing, Air Support, Narcotics, Animal Control Unit. The following events occurred between 2-3-14 thru 2-9-14. Detectives arrested an employee for allegedly embezzling over $70K in automobile parts from a car dealership located in the City. Detectives arrested a female for a variety of fraud related crimes. She allegedly created over 18 fake California identification cards. Detectives arrested a male for allegedly committing a burglary after his fingerprints were found at the crime scene. Detectives arrested a male after he allegedly stole several cell phones from display cases from a local business. Community Policing Officers worked a plain-clothes detail targeting solicitors/panhandlers in several of the major shopping complexes. The officers did not witness any violations. Community Policing Officers worked several issues regarding crimes committed by transients. During a ped check, MET officers arrested a male subject for possession of burglary tools after he was found to have numerous shaved keys in his possession. At the request of the California Robbery Investigators Association, a Department representative spoke of how the Redlands Police Department used technology to apprehend four different serial robbery suspects in 2013.
