In other news, after dismissing it for years as a TV show for knobheads, Ive become absolutely obsessed with the TV show Girls. Its funny and its warm and, despite my ownership of cock and balls, its bang on the money with so many instances of modern day life Ive never seen played out via television. Yet, my love for it lies largely in the form of creator Lena Dunham and her portrayal of the character Hannah Horvath. After suspecting it was the case via the characters oblique references to the sort of crazy batshit behaviour that is a fixture of my daily life (yes, but what about the stuff that gets up the side?) it transpires that Dunham (and thereby Hannah) is a fellow OCD sufferer. I have to say, Hannah Horvath might well be the most inspiring pop-culture event my life has ever seen. Only last week I decided that everyone in the world thought I was a rapist and the only way I could stop people thinking this about me was to touch the pavement three times with my nose any time I walked through a door frame. And the week before that, I briefly decided the hard bit of skin on my finger was infact proof that I had skin cancer rather than merely being down to the fact that I use a pen a lot. And lets not mention how Ive decided that if somebody texts me and doesnt put a fullstop on the end of the text it means that they dont like me. Its so rare to see such a dumb-yet-debilitating illness depicted on television in such a realistic way, and I would like to say thanks, with every fibre of my being, to Lena Dunham for finally putting a realistic, informed take on OCD on television as well as making me feel like, finally, someone understands how terrifying it is to put one foot infront of the other most days. Feeling very inspired today https://youtube/watch?v=MEcI0rD_SyM
