In our day baseball stadiums didnt have a playground in leftfield. There was no slide through a giant mitt at Candlestick. There were 50 kids jumping out of the stands and crashing towards a chain link cyclone fence to battle for a Jack Clark homerun ball. The fifty feet or so between the stands and the fence was like a steel cage no holds barred battle royal thunderdome for 9-13 year olds. It built character!
