In our western mindset we have a get it now mindset when comes to approaching ministry. After the 13 years in Christ I see the value in people waiting on the call of God. Paul instructed timothy to not place new converts into leadership positions lest they become puffed up. I know when God called me 13 years ago I expected to start my calling right away. I had no idea it would take 13 years of equipping. Im still learning and growing into this everyday. Some things are caught and not taught and nothing replaces time. Waiting hurt me but It may have saved me more hurt in the long run from being released too soon. Im sharing my story to let you know to not get ahead of the Lords plans but to keep in step with his spirit. We should not be so eager to elect people into leadership. Im not telling any of the pastors who read my blogs to sit people down whats done is done. If you have placed some prematurely all you can do is help them grow into their role and watch out for heir well being. We need to be about creating quality equipping instead of quantity.#B.L.WAYKC
