In paying tribute to the late Karpal Singh - his eldest son Gobind told Kinitv how difficult their family struggles when the DAP leader was detained in the 1987 Operasi Lalang. He said Karpal continued to give them the strength and confidence although he himself suffered the most due to his health problems. Karpal stayed for nearly two years in the Kamunting Detention Center with 105 others who were caught in a dragnet in 1987 under the rule of former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamed.
