In person interviews will be conducted next week for the position - TopicsExpress

In person interviews will be conducted next week for the position of Champaign County Humane Agent, and we are starting to get applications for the position of Hardin County Humane Agent as well. As exciting as this is for us to be in this position to help out rural Ohio and areas that have no enforcement whatsoever, we do want to stress the realities of being a Humane Agent. Before taking this role on myself in Union County, we cycled through a lot of Agents and the reality is, this job is both physically and emotionally draining and demanding and I expect the highest level of professionalism from my Agents who represent our partnering Humane Societies and ACT, even when dealing with the lowest level of human scum. Please read the very realistic working conditions, not to discourage people from applying, but just so you are aware of what we deal with on a regular basis. For me, its the only job I can imagine doing. But it is certainly not for every animal lover: Contact with emotional, angry, upset and hostile people is standard. Will regularly be in situations of risk during field duty. Contact with diseased, and deceased animals will occur. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to animal dander, parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals living in unsanitary conditions including feces, urine and human waste. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions as well as extended periods of time outside during inclement weather and at all times of the day or night depending upon the needs of the animal. Work days can last 4 hours or over 24 hours depending upon the needs of the animal, and the size and scope of the rescue work. Self-defense against a person or animal may be necessary.---Still think the job is for you? Email me a resume/cover letter: [email protected]
