In the Daily Herald of today Wednesday I took note that the leader of the opposition here on Saba took a good swipe at the Island Secretary and was stopped by the Chairman of the Central Committee. Frankly speaking no Chairman of the Central Committee would stop me from saying what I have to say. I am not a supporter of the leader of the opposition or any other member of the council but on this I fully support the leader of the opposition with his statements and remarks regarding the Island Secretary. I say at last someone was brave enough to take a swipe at him. I call on the leader of the opposition to stand firm on Friday in the public debate of the council. No chairman should try to muzzle any member of the council. At the last Island Council meeting everyone could have also heard where the Chairman of the Island Council tried to muzzle the leader of the Island Council when he was making a valid point regarding a government vehicle. The leader of the opposition is defending his position as a duly elected representative of the people and should be allowed to speak out without any form of interfering. The Island Secretary is not Jesus Christ.
