In the Garden, man had God’s Holy Spirit with him 24/7. When man sinned, he lost God’s Spirit (spiritual death); Gen. 2:17, “…you shall surely die…” When Adam and Eve sinned, they died spiritually. The Holy Spirit left them due to their sin. Jesus came to “restore the Kingdom of Heaven/God” on earth; to restore God’s spirit to man. I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose. ( Luke 4:43) Mark 1:14, “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,” users.colfax/jensley/Webpage15.html The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news. ( Mark 1:15) And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations. ( Matthew 24:14) From that time on Jesus began to preach, Repent for the Kingdom of heaven has come near. ... Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom. ( Matthew :-1-:1) This then is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. ( Matthew 6:9-10) The kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed; nor will they say, Look, here it is! or There it is! For, in fact, the kingdom of God is among you. ( Luke 17:20-21) But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come to you. ( Luke 11:20) Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; cure the sick who are there, and say to them The kingdom of God has come near to you. ( Luke 10:8-9) My kingdom is not from this world. ( John 18:36) Jesus death allowed God’s Holy Spirit to once again communion with man. Jesus brought spiritual life back to man (Romans 8). The death and resurrection of Jesus is at the very heart of the Christian faith. For Christians it is through Jesuss death that peoples broken relationship with God is restored. This is known as the Atonement. Atonement is the reconciliation of men and women to God through the death of Jesus.
