In the NT, we have all this talk of the sale of our locally owned insurance agency. According to all the smart people it is unsustainable in its current form going forward, no mention of the raping it has receieved from succesive Governments taking dividends at will CLP/LABOR, effectively negating any opportunities it may have perceived/had to grow and enable it to stay competitive. The people of the NT HAVE NOT BEEN CONSULTED ON THIS SUBJECT. The Government was not elected with a mandate to sell public assets, they were elected with a mandate to reduce the cost of living and have done nothing of the sort. I am absolutely disgusted with this action, its a betrayal of Territorians, a betrayal of those who voted in a CLP government. Labour cant pretend to be victim in this, they considered the sale of TIO as well.I am infuriated to the point where i am convinced that the NT needs a third and independant political party. A party for Territorians by Territorians, not a party that sings party tunes from the southern states.The time for talk is over, its time for action. A new party needs a constitution and 250 signatures to launch in the NT. if succesfull, this new party will restart an insurance company which will best serves the needs of Territorians and a host of other inititiatives borne of the Territory. It will need candidates, foot soldiers and policies. This would be a massive task and not for the faint hearted. If this is for you? pm me.
