In the course of my work today at the charity I listened to the story of a young veteran who was forced, in the execution of his duty, to commit a neccessary and unspeakable act too graphic to share here. On my way home as I recalled his words, something struck me. Since I never served, I am blessed to be able to provide a caring presence in the lives of these warfighters, and while listening, dont run the risk of waking up personal demons of my own. To those of you who HAVE served, I am reminded once again of the debt I owe to all of you who have borne, and often continue to bear, incredible and lasting burdens as a result of your service on behalf of our Nation.
