In the early 70s while hitch hiking, I was picked up by members of The Farm. The brief time I spent with them had a lasting effect on me, most notably in the form of some books they gave me. One of them in particular, Spiritual Midwifery by Ina Mae Gaskin played a big part in my and the future mothers of my childrens decision to have all of our kids naturally, at home instead of in a hospital. I know thats a common practice now, but in the 70s it was practically unheard of. Always been very grateful for that encounter. RIP Stephen Gaskin, a true American freethinker from a long line of freethinkers.
