In the early 90s when I worked at Miracle Mart at the mall I met an amazing man. My first memory is when he had his third child and he came walking up to the door at Miracle Mart with the most amazing, huge and Proud smile and exclaimed its a Girl ~ his excitement was unreal, I continued to work with him and watched him help the elderly with their groceries. It always made me giggle when people would ask for paper bags, as he could pack about 50 lbs into one bag. I remember when he was going through his divorce and all our talks. And then our fun began, he started coming out with us and we would go dancing at the Sundowner ~ those were a lot of great and amazing fun times. Then he met his wife to be Christie Gutknecht and boy were they made for each other, the smile on his face could not get any bigger ~ he loved her and she loved him ~ two people made for each other. Of course we had many fun times with both of them and of course their wedding was the most fun ever. He was the most proud Dad I had ever known and truly loved his kids with his whole heart. Life got busy and I didnt get to see him often but every time I did there was always that huge smile, a wonderful chat and always a hug. He truly cared for everyone he met. Yesterday he passed away after a long 17 year battle. I think there truly are Angels Walking Among Us, but sometimes it takes losing them to realize who they are. I will miss you forever and am sooooo grateful that I was lucky enough to call you Friend my sweet Kevin Gutknecht!!! You were Loved on this earth and will continue to be loved forever!!! Rest Easy. Praying for peace and comfort to his entire family & all of his friends!!
