In the early part of 2040, as an armada of alien craft crossed the sky in Florida, a man woke from a deep sleep in Honolulu. As he bolted out of bed beads of sweat fell from his forehead onto his outstretched, manicured hands. His tired hand ran through his hair with the force of a bulldozer—his skin collects under his finger nails. His scalp bleeds, and with his insides exposed and bare he is ready to get out of bed.
