In the final Astley Trail races of 2014 Chorleys juniors had to settle for 2nd team behind Horwich in both the final race and the series. Jack Wilson(11th) was 2nd U14, Caitlin McCarrick(16th) also 2nd U14, Daniel Lilley(18th), Jacob Hughes(21st), Joseph Mitchell(22nd), Oliver Platt(28th), Finlay Hughes(30th) and Blythe Cordwell(32nd) who was 3rd G10. 1st U8 Owen Kellett(34th) followed with Isabelle Farron(35th), Dennis Kay(37th), Erin Clarke(40th & 3rd G12), Emily Warren(41st), Megan Wilson(43rd) & Teddy Henry(44th). 3rd U8 Robert Kellett(57th) just beat 1st G16 Beth Clarke(59th), Jessica Mitchell(64th), Tom Murphy(65th) & Lily Brindle(66th) who had a slight gap on Layla Allton(71st), Annie Phillips(72nd), Eloise Beattie(73rd) & Elizabeth Baron(74th) beating brother Patrick(81st). In the series Caitlin took the girls honours in 1st place with Isabelle being the 3rd U11 girl. In the seniors Julian Goudge(14th) was 2nd V40 followed by Robert Walsh(32nd), Phil Iddon(52nd), Jonathon Mattock(68th), David Parkinson(71st), Bill Beckett(84th), Malc Christie(87th) & Joe Allman(93rd). 1st L35 Laura Murphy(96th) came ahead of Mark Bond(98th), Jonathan Burgess(100th), Paul Bass(110th), Alan Blackwell(112th), Michael Hendry(131st), Lee Childs(136th) and Rachael Gibson(158th). Lara Dickinson(173rd) pipped 3rd V70 John Swift(192nd) and 1st JL Leah Nelson-Verrechio(200th) before Steven Wilde(205th), Les Paul(218th) & Eddie Murray(228th) with Dave Kershaw(229th) keeping him company. Chorley was the 6th mens team & 7th ladies. In the series 1st places were gained by Robert Walsh(V40), Laura Murphy(L35) and Leah(JL), all topped by Julians overall 3rd position.
