In the first decade of the 21st century almost two million Christians died for their faith. And the hostility has only grown since. If that number surprises you it is because the persecution of believers never makes the news in the mainstream media. It is so un-newsworthy that it is difficult to find hard numbers. Multiple sources will often have numbers that vary by hundreds of thousands. So before I say more, let me define “martyr.”
