In the last couple of months, we have received a number of calls and emails from clients with major concerns regarding their lawns and all with the same issue... its dying! This isnt the case! Dont be alarmed! We are going through one of the driest spells in recent history and by looking around at all of your neighbours lawns or even the local parks, you will see that green grass is few and far between. If you have had a new lawn installed or simply like to keep your lawn green, you are a prime candidate for lawn grubs and other insects due to the lack of green grass available. Moths and grubs, a lot like ourselves, will do anything it takes to provide our kids with food and that is simply what the moths are doing, laying eggs in the best place possible to ensure the kids are fed. As you will see from the first image attached, the lawn looks pretty old and would give the impression that dog wee has burnt the grass, but this isnt the case! It is caused by a thing called Lawn Grub and Army Worm and most lawn fanatics will be well aware of their damaging effects in very short amounts of time. It is easily treated by applying a granule pesticide which can be bought at any good hardware of garden centre. By following the instructions and repeating them a few times, you should be able to wipe out these damaging little critters and have your lawn back to its usual green self in no time. The images attached will demonstrate how well your lawn will return after treatment. The before and after photos were taken about 5 weeks apart. If you treat it now, you should have a great green lawn come Christmas!
