In the last two weeks alone, I have received at least 4 different animated videos all around the subject of Diaris God oh. These videos were funny and they actually showcase the creativity that I think is inherent in most if not every Nigerian, even at short notice. It is not the first time I saw a Nigerian made cartoon or animated video anyway, just that these ones served as reminders. What I wonder is whether the minister and commissioners for education and youth development are watching these said videos and can begin to think of engaging these artist just so our kids can have home grown super heroes. Heroes in tune with who we are and the few things we stand for. Instead of our creativity coming to the fore when we are challenged or when we are being cynical, why cant we harness what we know we have to make us better people? In all this, I keep asking where and what is actually the job of our National Orientation Agency NOA. Shouldnt this organization begin to engage Nollywood and other such organizations to see how Nigerians can be reached from the movies they watch? Methinks if the child starts to cultivate a sense of altruism and super heroism at a tender age, the community policing and patriotism will be achieved without need for long drawn out conferences and symposium. Just asking my friends that know these big men to pass on the message...Tankio!
