In the matter concerning the refusalof government to reduce price on petroleum and its products because they are trying to generate funds to pay off debt, i have this to say; I think the government must find out how the debt was incured and those whose actions accumulated it so they explain to ghanaians why we must contribute to its payment. We live in a country where few people cause financial loss and the struggling masses are forced to pay. If they had struck gold or something precious than that in the cause of their work would they have sold and share it to every ghanaian? Am not against collectively supporting a good cause for our dear nation but this is inhumane. Businessmen are using all their profits to fuel generators just to have light to sustain their businesses and the government is busily milking us to pay debts we dont know how it came about. If we had not asked why there havent been any reduction would they have given us the excuse of debt payment or its the usual intention of our leaders to treat us stupid by thinking any excuse will do for a ghanaian. This has nothing to do with poltics but drawing our minds to how we are being taken for shallow minds in this country. Those who were assigned to run our petroleum business were payed and given extra allowance only to fail in their duties to bring about debt that the innocent ghanaian have to contribute in paying it off. I would have been happy if these monies were rather being generated to fund construction of more roads, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, more infrastructure for our packed up universities, etc etc instead of paying for debts. Who knows the next debt ghanaians would be forced to pay at our expense.
