In the middle of the afternoon in Reading on Tuesday.. #crikey Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an incident of threats to kill in Reading. Between about 3.30pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday (7/10), the victim, a 30-year-old woman, was walking near Fobney Lock off Island Road. She was then approached by a man who produced a knife and asked the woman to come with him, but the victim refused. To get away from the offender, the victim jumped in the Kennet and Avon Canal. The offender then ran off. The victim was not injured during the incident, which was reported to Thames Valley Police yesterday (8/10). The offender is white, about 30-years-old, slim, about 5ft 5in to 5ft 6in, with short brown hair, blue eyes, thin lips and clean shaven. He was wearing a brown jacket with no hood, a grey polo shirt, jeans and lace-up trainers with blue detail.
