In the midst of moving house, I have to juggle an all-day photo shoot, various client meetings, account management, bids and other work-related things (because work does not stop just because youre busy with other aspects of life). The hero of the show is Nikki, who is handling 99% of everything. For the short term, we have no internet yet (I know!), relying on guerilla sorties to find Wifi; no phones, as these have to be processed and installed; and no cable. Everything needs be sorted and put away (its telling, the things we accumulate through the years). Deliveries from the furniture and appliance stores are scheduled today, and there is paperwork, fees and small procedures to be followed. BUT: last night, we slept in our new home. This whirlwind of anxieties and challenges will pass, and left behind will be a place for my family that we can call our own.
