In the minds of those who would be thinking its in the past and yet forgetting that it affects us in the present. Those Indians were never brought into the larger community by any more than token actions of the white mans government. They were deprived of their homelands and way of life, and of their very culture. And then in 1924, the U.S. government, with a ~twinge~ of conscience, ordered that these first Americans be granted American citizenship. Some may have been grateful, others were not, but most didnt even care. To most Americans it is academic - what happened to the Indians like it was ancient history since there are shopping malls, paved highways, skyscrapers, wifi, beef steaks and lattes, but to most Americans the Indians have disappeared and are extinct. The question lingers whether a man accidently finds something and claims it his own and creating unto himself the pest called the Indian as the problem and his quest to continue the possession of it. Now if we fast forward into the brazened path of the American pioneer, slash and burn the fields of Indian history then it is predetermined by ordination that the Indian is for all practical daily purposes... gone. *Poof* Gone. Then Indians who have tokenized themselves acceptable and not make a fuss is due to many factors but mostly the factor of making a living. You gotta do something to survive but yet in a sense of plotting, contriving and a scheming system of programmed acceptability, accordingly along the lines of unnatural scheming and as in feigning for the addiction of living in a better world dictated by its own unnatural thinking.
